This run-down four-bedroom Victorian property offered exceptional room space, with beautifully high ceilings. As part of a full refurbishment programme we were commissioned to introduce style, functionality and modernity into the kitchen area.
Our brief was to take full advantage of the high ceilings and utilise the available space with extensive storage options. A minimal feel is achieved through doors without handles, easily opened by a polished steel grip-groove. A combination of dark oak veneer and high white gloss suggests both warmth and cool sophistication.
The size of the open plan area allowed us to introduce a huge island complemented by the substantial flowing 80mm thick Corian work surface. Incorporating a flush-fit gas hob and two matching moulded Corian sinks with recessed drainer, along with a high specification chrome tap to enhance the overall proportions. Working with the ceiling space are two circular stainless steel extractors that are fully functional but are also designed to make a real statement. The sheer size and luxury of this monolithic centrepiece gives the space visual impact.
